1. NASA Goddard Space Flight Center Internship Description: NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center offers a high school internship program.

Students can explore careers in space exploration, engineering, and Earth science.

Interns work on exciting projects such as satellite design, space weather research, and environmental monitoring, with mentorship from NASA professionals.

To be eligible for NASA’s IEP, you must: Be a U.

S. citizen Be at least 16 years of age Be enrolled or accepted for enrollment on at least a half-time basis Be pursuing a degree or certificate Currently have and maintain a

2. Maryland State Archives Internship Description: The Maryland State Archives serves as the central depository for government records of permanent value.

Its holdings date from Maryland's founding in 163

4. These include colonial and state executive, legislative, and judicial records.

They also include county probate, land, and court records.

Church records, business records, state publications, and reports are part of the collection.

Additionally, it holds special collections of private papers, maps, photographs, and newspapers.

The records of all state agencies, boards, and commissions that were abolished must be transferred to the Archives.

Those that have concluded their work must also be transferred.

Objectives: Assist with the processing of government records for public access Assist with creation of record inventory Assist with preparing records to be digitized Duties: Read records (including handwritten material) in order to identify by type Organize records by content, date, alphabetically, etc.

3. Maryland Public Television Internship Description: Maryland Public Television is commonly known by its familiar name "MPT".

It is a public television network that comprises six television stations.

These stations broadcast throughout the entire state of Maryland.

They also extend into the District of Columbia and parts of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia.

MPT is the only state-wide broadcaster in Maryland.

MPT is a member of the Public Broadcasting Service.

Eligibility: MPT internships offer a thorough introduction to Maryland Public Television including our mission and expectations.

We are committed to providing a solid work experience to serious minded individuals in a positive environment.

Offering internships to freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, graduate college, trade school college students Offering internships to junior and senior high school students MPT offers paid and unpaid internships.

High school students are not considered for the paid internship.

An unpaid intern that is not for academic credit is deemed a volunteer.

Students must be able to commit to a minimum of 16 hours per week (with the exception of high school students).

Students must have reliable transportation with the exception of stipend students.

Internships are typically for hours during the standard workday (i. e. , 8:30 am to 4:30 pm or 9:00 am to 5:00 pm).

Nights & weekend hours may be required but are not routine.

4. Bank of America Student Leaders Description: As a Student Leader, you will participate in an eight-week paid internship at a local nonprofit organization.

You will learn first-hand about the needs of your community.

You will also discover the critical role nonprofits play.

In addition, you will learn valuable civic, social and business leadership skills.

Each Student Leader will attend the Student Leaders Summit held in Washington, D.

C. where you will learn how government, business and the nonprofit sector work together to address critical community needs.

5. John Hopkins Internship In Brain Sciences Description: The Johns Hopkins Internship in Brain Sciences (JHIBS) is a summer research program for junior and senior high school students.

It helps them get exposed to and discover a passion for a career in the neurological sciences.

Seventy-five percent of college students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) decide in high school to pursue these areas.

JHIBS aims to reach students at this early stage and provide a hands-on mentored research experience.

We believe that the right pre-college exposure can help bright and intelligent students.

Long-term mentoring, educational resources, and encouragement are also essential.

These academically capable students can successfully pursue the pathway to a profession as a researcher.

They can also become clinician scientists at the doctoral level.

Application Process: Depending on your location, we offer two summer programs: In-Person: Open to students who live in the Baltimore, Maryland, metropolitan area, and who are enrolled full time in a Baltimore City Public or Independent School toward a high school diploma.

Virtual: Open to students who live anywhere in the U.

S. and are enrolled full time towards a high school diploma.

Note: If you are accepted, please be aware that extended absences during the virtual 5-week or in-person 8-week program are not permitted.

Do not apply knowing that you will not be able to commit to the program full time.

To apply, please complete the appropriate application form based on your preferred learning format: Application for the in-person program Application for the virtual program As part of the application form, students are required to: Provide basic background information Answer several essay questions Upload a resume that includes history of work, hobbies/research experience, etc.

Upload a copy of the academic transcript (can be unofficial transcript).
