These internships have different deadlines, which is important to keep track of.
Additionally, some of them might have deadlines that have passed.
But don't worry!
There's always next year to apply for it.
SPARK Program SPARK Program changing to a mentorship program in 202
4. Although it's a mentorship program now, it still serves its purpose as an internship and allows you to get hands-on experience for projects that you might have an interest in.
This program targets high school students in the United States who demonstrate high levels of motivation and proactivity.
They must have a strong GPA.
The SPARK Summer Program consists of multiple projects that span over the United States during the summer.
Some can be remote, as well!
Mentors who specialize in a certain STEM field assist with these projects.
This means that some projects can be for biotechnology, and some can be about something completely different.
Most, if not all projects are due by April 22nd.
STaRS Internship Program Stanford's STARS Internship Program is for students who are taking a biomedical stance in their future.
It's a 7-week program with most of the time spent working in the laboratory with mentors who have extensive knowledge in their fields.
Students must be age 16 or older at the time of the program to apply, and students under 18 will require signed parental consent forms to work in the laboratory.
Applications will be accepted from September until November.
Biorocket Research Internship Program This internship provides students with the opportunity to learn the latest advances in genetic engineering and biology laboratory skills, along with the science communication skills necessary to communicate about these topics with an audience.
Students also earn a stipend of $2,000!
This internship exclusively caters to high school students aged 16 and above residing in New York.
It prioritizes students from historically excluded groups in the sciences, encompassing but not limited to race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, individuals with disabilities, first-generation college students, and those from low-income families.
Broad Summer Scholars Program The Broad Summer Scholars Program (BSSP) invites motivated high school students with a strong interest in science to spend 6 weeks at the Broad Institute to work on projects such as cancer biology, psychiatric disease, chemical biology, computational biology, infectious disease, and more.
In addition to original research, students earn a $3,600 stipend.
This internship is only available to high school seniors who attend a high school in Boston.
They prioritize students from groups who are underrepresented in the sciences and are genuinely passionate about the sciences.
The Jackson Laboratory Summer Student Program The Summer Student Program (SSP) is an internship that allows students to create their own projects independently.
While they have a mentor to help them along the way, much of the work is the effort of the student.
The SSP is especially catered to those with an interest in genetics and genomics research.
This program is for high school students and undergraduate students and prioritizes those from groups that have been underrepresented historically in the sciences.
Lastly, the program opens in late October, and is due late January.
Monell Science Apprenticeship Program For students with an interest in biomedical sciences, consider this program that not only provides you an inspiring experience of seven weeks of research activity with a Monell scientist but is paid full-time.
Additionally, students would have a schedule full of enrichment activities that include lectures on scientific topics with more opportunities to immerse themselves in the scientific community.
Students must reside in the greater Philadelphia area, which is an area involving both New Jersey and Philadelphia.
Students from groups historically underrepresented are prioritized.
This is a highly competitive area, with less than 10% of applicants being accepted.

PlayHow to Get Internships as a High Schooler (ULTIMATE GUIDE) Rockefeller University's Summer Science Research Program Students will participate in a research team designed and guided by Rockefeller trainees.
SSRP teams mirror the structure of a Rockefeller laboratory, where one trainee serves as team lead with support from dedicated scientist-mentors.
Each team will have their own space in the RockEDU laboratory.
Accepted students will also partake in additional experiences, including elective scientific courses, guest lectures, and social events.
While this opportunity can be life-changing, these projects cannot be utilized for competitions such as science fairs.
Quest Students Internship Quest Student Research Institute welcomes students with a programming background to create projects that serve scientific purposes.
IT projects can have interesting applications such as cryptography or global data trend evaluations.
Computational science projects will utilize molecular modeling and drug design methods for biological or medicinal applications (cancer and other diseases).
All high school students grade 10 and up as well as undergraduate students are welcome to apply for this internship!
While there is a fee to apply ($60) and the tuition is $500, stipends and financial aid are available.
